Other Causes

Mast Cell Activation Syndrome

Mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS) symptoms happen without a clear trigger, including swelling, diarrhea, vomiting, flushing, and itching. Patients often struggle with dry mouth due to Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS) or medication side effects.

Menopause

During menopause, hormonal changes can lead to a significant decrease in saliva production, resulting in dry mouth. This can exacerbate oral discomfort and increase the risk of dental issues.

HIV

Individuals living with HIV often experience dry mouth as a side effect of medication or the virus itself. This condition can make swallowing and speaking difficult, impacting overall quality of life.

Lifestyle Choices

Certain lifestyle choices, such as drinking alcohol, smoking, or vaping can lead to persistent dry mouth. Alcohol acts as a diuretic, while tobacco use decreases saliva flow, compounding the issue. Although vaping is often perceived as a safer alternative to smoking, it similarly reduces saliva production due to propylene glycol and nicotine, contributing to dry mouth.

Dehydration

Dehydration, often caused by inadequate fluid intake or excessive sweating, can also lead to dry mouth. Staying hydrated is crucial for maintaining saliva production and oral health.

Dry Mouth and Cardiovascular Conditions

Cardiovascular conditions and their associated medications can also cause dry mouth. Aquoral ensures that your mouth stays hydrated and comfortable, reducing the risk of further complications.

High Blood Pressure

Some medications used to treat high blood pressure can cause dry mouth which may make it more difficult to chew or swallow. Aquoral helps bring relief to these side effects, ensuring your mouth stays moist and your taste remains unaffected.

Rare Disease

Rare diseases present a complex and diverse challenge globally, with many conditions leading to symptoms like dry mouth. Among these, sarcoidosis, systemic sclerosis, and amyloidosis are some examples while there are countless others.

Aquoral Protective Oral Spray
